Thomas Couvreur traveled to the Philippines for a ten-day mission as part of the “Discover Philippines” program, funded by the French Embassy.
During this trip, he gave two lectures, one at the Alliance Française and the other at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB).
In collaboration with Jiro T. Adorador (UPLB) and five master’s students, Thomas Couvreur led a botanical mission in northern Luzon, carried out with the support of the municipality of Apayao and the NGO Philippine Eagle Foundation. This mission enabled the exploration of areas that had never been surveyed before.
The fieldwork led to the collection of around 100 specimens, the launch of a thesis on the Annonaceae family by Cara Mia Digo, and the preparation of a collaboration agreement between IRD and UPLB.
