Our research focuses on plant biodiversity and adaptation. We study how tropical plant biodiversity is shaped by evolutionary forces resulting from human and environmental factors.
Our work is based on population genetics, but also incorporates a multidisciplinary approach, including ecology, botany, molecular phylogenetics, and anthropology.
It focuses on three main areas:
– the evolutionary history of domestication;
– the conservation of diversity;
– global change and adaptation.
Our team is based in Montpellier (France), at the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD). Some members are based abroad, in countries in the Global South, and our collaborations involve countries such as Senegal, Cameroon, Niger, Cambodia, Ecuador, and Peru.
