As a botanist, I am interested in the description, evolution, ecology, and conservation of plant biodiversity. I work in particular on island systems (notably New Caledonia and Cuba), metal hyperaccumulator plants, and the family Cunoniaceae. My work covers a wide range of disciplines, including taxonomy, population genetics, molecular phylogenetics, macroecology, and ionomics.

I study the role of evolutionary processes in the diversity and adaptations of native coffee trees in Africa. For many years, I have been conducting interdisciplinary research with partners in the Global South, particularly at the interface between population genetics, genomics, ecology, and biogeography. I also explore the impact of human activities on cultivated coffee […]

Léran Sophie

My research focuses on the molecular and physiological characterization of coffee trees’ adaptation to abiotic stresses (drought, temperature, nutrition, etc.).

My research activities focus primarily on the oil palm, a perennial monocotyledon of the Arecaceae family cultivated for oil production. The aim is to deepen our understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing the development and metabolism of the fruit and seeds in this species in order to promote the selection of varieties that meet the […]

I am a molecular biology engineer. In addition to collective tasks for the organisation and management of the unit’s laboratoriesI, I contribute to specific REPROD projects aimed at studying how chromatin states are determined and what their functional roles are during sexual reproduction in Arabidopsis thaliana, a model plant. More specifically, I develop tools to […]

My activities focus on technical development and the design of methodological approaches for analyzing genetic and species diversity. I work as a biological engineer in the field, in the laboratory, and in the area of data processing and analysis (bioinformatics). I have expertise in new high-throughput sequencing technologies and in the analysis of biodiversity based […]

My area of expertise is plant systems biology and multi-scale modeling, spanning from gene networks to the whole plant. Currently, my work focuses on decoding the gene regulatory networks that govern root development.

Lorieux Mathias

My current research focuses on 1) the modification of meiotic recombination through structural variation in genomes, 2) genotype imputation, and 3) the bypass of sterility in O. sativa x O. glaberrima hybrids. Previously, I created a NAM rice population, interspecific CSSL libraries of wild rice, and iBridges for African-Asian rice. I have also studied the […]

I am an agronomist specializing in integrated pest management in coffee farming systems. I have extensive experience in Latin America (Mexico, Central America, and Brazil). I am currently the scientific director of the multisectoral ECOFFEE initiative, which aims to reduce pesticide use in coffee cultivation. This initiative, launched in 2020, is being developed in partnership […]
