I study plant developmental mechanisms using integrated approaches that combine functional genetics, imaging, and modeling. Within the DIADE research unit, my work aims to improve our understanding of the regulatory networks that control the formation and activity of root meristems, and their contribution to plant architecture, physiology, and adaptation.

I am responsible for managing the in vitro culture laboratory, including: • maintenance of all laboratory equipment (ultrapure water production systems, autoclaves, etc.); • management of the four culture rooms; • technical oversight of the facility; • waste management and disposal; • procurement and purchasing. I also contribute to several research projects on oil palm, […]

My research focuses on the history and evolution of oasis agrosystems, particularly those involving date palms. Using a variety of methods (population genomics, archaeobiology, ethnobotany), I study the diversity of date palms and their spatio-temporal dynamics under the influence of human societies, in order to identify levers for conservation, sustainable management, and strengthening the resilience […]

My research focuses primarily on the evolution of the genome in coffee species, both wild and cultivated. To address these questions, I use comparative genomics, pangenomics, and transposable element analyses. I am particularly interested in understanding the evolution of metabolic pathways of interest within the genus Coffea, especially the pathway involved in caffeine biosynthesis.

My current research involves rehabilitating the banana cell biology platform and setting up the biotechnology component with the development of NGT (new genomic techniques) tools. These will enable the study of pathogen resistance traits and fruit quality.

Trained in molecular genetics and physiology, I worked on transposable elements (TEs) during my PhD at INRA. My postdoctoral research in Helsinki focused on the mechanics and evolution of TEs. Currently at IRD, I study pangenomic modifications during specification/domestication, particularly TEs, using graph approaches. I also currently coordinate IRD’s efforts in AI and digital technology..

My activities include monitoring experiments conducted both in the greenhouse and in the field. I also provide technical co-supervision for students and partners within our team. Additionally, I serve as the laboratory’s health and safety officer in the role of prevention assistant.
Orjuela-Bouniol Julie

As a bioinformatics engineer, I support projects on plant diversity and adaptation. Specializing in genome reconstruction and reference-free analysis, I develop innovative methods based on sequencing data. I promote open and reproducible tools, provide training in both the North and South, and co-manage the i-Trop platform’s computing cluster.
Petitot Anne-Sophie

My research focuses on rice and the role of the hormone jasmonate in development and stress responses. Specifically, I characterize the function of genes involved in jasmonate biosynthesis and signaling pathways.
