The platform does not provide services in the strict sense of the term. However, several teams from different joint research units (UMRs) in Montpellier use our cryopreservation facilities for collaborative projects, contributing to the costs of consumables and small equipment.

The cryopreservation platform is shared with Agap Institut and offers facilities in the ARCAD building and those of the IRD center.

At Diade, the main objectives are the development of seed cryopreservation methodologies and the long-term storage of cryobanks for all types of tissues and organs. A 15 m² room equipped with an oximeter is dedicated to storing samples in liquid nitrogen in 170-L Arpège (Air Liquide) cryotanks.

Two programmable CryoMed (Thermo) and KBF (Binder) freezers are available on the platform, as well as various culture incubators. In addition, the platform relies on the in vitro culture laboratories of the UMR (Platform for in vitro culture, genetic transformation, and genome editing of tropical plants).
