I use population genetics tools to study the history of domestication, examining both the human and plant components of the evolutionary process. The questions that interest me include: When, how, and under what population models were plants domesticated? When, where, and how did they spread? Were human migrations aligned with the dispersal of plants? Did domestication involve phenotypic and genetic changes in both the plants and the human populations that use them?
