A team of botanists from IRD and the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador undertook a two-week exploration in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Production Reserve, in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
We visited two areas: Lagartococha, near the border with Peru, and Zancudococha, a large inland lake near the Aguarico River. The main objective was to collect and document plants from these little-explored regions. We mainly collected Annonaceae and palms.
The trip took place in March 2023 and was funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program (grant agreement No 865787; GLOBAL project).
