Plant diversity, adaptation and development

The DIADE Joint Research Unit (UMR DIADE), founded in 2011 in Montpellier, is a centre of excellence combining research and training under the supervision of the University of Montpellier, CIRAD and IRD.

Our seven teams are specialized in studying the biodiversity, adaptation and development of tropical plants in order to preserve these exceptional resources and promote their use for the benefit of society. Their work on plant adaptation mechanisms and their environmental interactions contributes directly to food security and sustainable agriculture in the face of the challenges of climate change and of agroecological transition.
