The originality of IRD lies in its long-term scientific presence in partner countries, enduring partnerships, interdisciplinary research organized around societal challenges, and the co-production of knowledge with its partners.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"842\">A project to merge IRD with the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) is currently under discussion.
